This is the annual festival of Pyeongchang, Gangwon-do. Start in late December, fishing Trout from frozen water makes a great fun experience. Trout is acknowledged as healthy food in winter due to its high protein and low-fat nutrition. The event period begins late December to February at the Pyeongchang district. Fishing can be enjoyed with a fishing rod or bare-handed in the pool.
The fish caught by visitors can be prepared as Korean-style dishes right away at a nearby restaurant. There are lots of winter activities except fishing. Sledding, ice skating, even bobsleigh are ready for tourists. And there is some chance to experience Korean traditional folk games including top spinning and wooden sledge. Or oppositely, contemporary attractions as 4-wheel ATVs, snow rafting, sleigh trains can be enjoyed.
This farm has to maintain the clear nature of Gangwon-do with a widely spread grass yard and a far mountain view. The visitors may feel the illusion as if they are standing in the world of the fairy tale of “Heidi, Girl of Alps”. Looking at the flock of sheep cotching on the green yard, enjoy the great sightseeing of Daegwallyeong.
This ranch provides a 1.2km trail around the fence, and a chance for experiencing feed the sheep. During the winter period, opens at 09:00 and closes at 17:00. If you go to the ranch in the winter, the huge white place with a crowd of white sheep makes a strange atmosphere.
